The Business Development Manager for the designated territory will be responsible for driving market activation, building deep customer relationships and market knowledge, developing discipline in opportunity and front-end funnel management, and progressing our regional business development talent and capabilities, in-line with Segment strategy.

  

  • Focus on finding new opportunities, establishing connections, building relationships with multiple contacts at potential customers, and overseeing these customer engagements.
  • Leverage your skills in understanding and matching the customer needs and company capability offerings to facilitate opportunities throughout the sales funnel:  from initial awareness, consideration, and evaluation with product-testing, to negotiation and close.
  • Add value through a project-based account management approach and partner with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and develop customer-segment offers and solutions.
  • Gather market insights, and customer unmet needs, and contribute to the development of Personal Care and Home Care multi-generational innovation portfolio pipeline.
  • Work closely with Strategic Marketing, Application Development, Technical Services, Sales, and Product Management teams to develop customer relations in strategic/priority segment(s) with required resources to drive project acquisition by systematic build-up of customer relationships, planning, coordination, and hosting of industry and customer events.
  • Identify new business/project opportunities (including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets) based on commercial attractiveness, and customer requirements that fit company capabilities.
     

Qualifications:

  • An educational background in Business and/or Chemical Engineer, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in business development or similar roles.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset is highly desirable in this role, as it involves taking ownership and pursuing creative and potentially new solutions.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills are vital, as well as the ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Embrace change and uncertainty as opportunities and continue to manage challenges to ensure a 'never give up' attitude.
  • A readiness to take action and get things done is key to success in this dynamic role.
