ABOUT THE POSITION:

  • A Senior Project Engineer will have extensive experience with civil engineering and will be able to effectively communicate that experience to a team of younger P.E.s, E.I.T.s, designers, and CAD Technicians for preparation of construction plans, specifications, exhibits, reports, quantities, cost estimates, etc. for various land development projects.
  • Includes understanding the scope of work, estimated hours, and will be expected to take ownership of engineering design from start to finish.
  • Helps prepare and review engineering plans/documents to be in compliance with regulatory agencies and communicate with the team regarding project timelines and issues, and accurate maintenance of files and contracts is required.
  • Exercise good decision-making, exhibit sound judgment and knowledge, and show responsibility of work produced and overall project success.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs assignments in the design of commercial, single-family, multi-family, and mixed-use developments – including roadway, domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer drainage system design.
  • Creates, executes, and revises project plans as appropriate to meet client needs.
  • Prepares engineering designs and reviews deliverables prepared by the design team for engineering accuracy.
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized construction drawings and engineering reports.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer working in the land development industry
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with 10+ years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil-3D, HEC-HMS or PondPack, HEC-RAS, etc.
  • Ability to lead the creation of designs and drawings supporting our client's overall project goals.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AutoCAD (Including Civil3D), HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, etc.), Bentley (PondPack, StormCAD, etc.)
