Job Description:

This position will focus on, though is not limited to the rectisol portion of the gasification process.  The ideal candidate should have experience and in-depth knowledge in process improvement, manufacturing technical service, capital project work, change management and asset integrity work.  Candidates should be able to communicate effectively and function in an innovative, fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment. This position will report through the Company’s Development Division and support the Chemicals and Acetate Manufacturing Division (CAMD).

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage capital projects for the department including scope development, study, management of change, cost estimation, capital approval, detailed design, construction, training, and final controls.
  • Aid in preparation for the 2026 shut down.
  • Ownership and execution of PHA and LOPA action items.
  • Identify and implement cost savings and improvement projects, capturing them through Service Now.
  • Periodic on-call responsibility for the department and assist in troubleshooting upsets in normal operations
  • Provide timely communications to management and project stakeholders by communicating project needs, value, priorities, and decisions to ensure project success. 
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Development Personnel to assist the manufacturing unit in achieving their safety, production, reliability, and maintenance objectives.
  • Stay abreast of daily operations and provide advice and technical expertise to operations 
  • Mentor and onboard less experienced process improvement engineers on company-based systems.

 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering discipline required.
  • 5+ years of work experience in process improvement and manufacturing technical service is preferred.
  • The ability to remain in Gasification for 3-5+ years is preferred.
  • Capabilities in PI Vision for process monitoring and the ability to quickly co-utilize company-specific software is preferred. 
  • Comfortable challenging peers and supervision to develop creative solutions.
  • Works with a low level of guidance and direction.
  • Commitment to a high level of safety and environmental awareness, including knowledge of and commitment to process safety.
  • Proven ability to engage well with operators, peers, and management.
