The Opportunity:
IT Sr Technical Specialist – Informatica MDM will be directly involved in conducting analysis, creating technical/functional specs, configuration, testing and implementation of new and existing systems. This role will provide expertise that is critical in assisting with the identification of opportunities for the effective use of technology and the implementation of IT Informatica MDM solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Establish technology standards for development and maintenance of new and existing systems, makes recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal customers to ensure user requirements are complete and concise, confirming that changes and enhancements meet technical specifications and user requirements.
- May interact with the business to elicit, analyze and document detailed business requirements.
- Performs business process analysis to define configuration requirements.
- Transform business requirements into technical documentation including detailed design specifications to describe program development, logic coding and corrections.
- Perform a variety of tasks to review, analyze and modify business application systems including configuration, testing, debugging and implementation.
- Makes appropriate recommendations for continuing, modifying, or abandoning proposed projects based on the results of feasibility studies and/or cost/benefit analyses.
- Map current processes to the desired state and identifies gaps such as program functions, output requirements, input requirements and sources, data conversion strategies, and system techniques and controls.
- Provide solid test designs, develop test cases and review/approve the execution of those test cases.
- Develop business process flows and data models for new system development or for process redesign.
- Contribute to end-user training as needed.
- Provide support to existing applications and resolve business and technical problems.
- Keep informed of trends and new developments in technology to better advise management of means to accomplish business and information systems goals.
- Communicate effectively with management to enhance their understanding of the opportunities and limitations of information systems.
- Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Overall 8+ years of IT technical experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Informatica MDM hub architecture, configuration, development, and operation.
- 5+ years of experience translating business requirements into technical designs.
- 4 years of experience with data quality implementation including match/merge, staging, filtering, sourcing and publishing.
- 4 years of experience with the underlying infrastructure and data connections needed to operate a scalable dynamic master data hub.
- Experience in formal design review working with cross-functional teams and vendors and make recommendations.
- Experience in reviewing technical designs, and experience in code reviews - providing feedback on whether the technical design and code satisfies functional specifications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Able to bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectations.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts.
- Ability to drive requirements and project work through to closure.
- Training and experience in good test design; experience writing test cases and reviewing/approving the execution of those test cases.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Ability to advise and guide technical engineers on engagements. This includes participating in on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, creating solution proposals and creating data service offerings.
- Drive architecture engagement models and be an ambassador for partnership with delivery and external vendors.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Java, JBoss Application server is a plus.
- Experience with Active VOS workflow tool.
- Migration experience from on prem to SaaS.
- Knowledge with Mfiles, ALM, ServiceNow tools.
- Knowledge of data quality implementation and data connections needed to operate a scalable dynamic master data hub.
- Compliance/Regulatory experience.
