Business & IT Alignment Director
The Job Opportunity:
The Business & IT Alignment Director will be responsible for supporting Legal, OEC & Privacy in Corporate Functions. The candidate will have multiple large client areas and multiple deployed Enterprise technologies to support across multiple divisions. The candidate will manage the team which includes managers and individual contributors and related delivery activities that require interaction between business units and IT (including Delivery, Support, and Business Relationships to successfully deliver Company solutions and ensure value is achieved as anticipated from the outsourced relationships under management. The candidate will lead and influence the direction of the domain. Provides coaching and mentoring to enable a high-performing team. This position will report to the Senior Director, of IT Corporate Functions.
The Job Responsibilities:
- Working in conjunction with the business, I drive the management of strategic roadmap, portfolio management, and prioritization and secure the required budget.
- The Director ensures processes are adhered to in the tracking of status and serves as an escalation point for the Business.
- Anticipates capacity and ensures it is known, and monitored and adequate staffing is provided for solutions and projects across respective domain(s).
- Develops and executes plans to ensure capacity constraints do not impact upcoming or inflight projects within and across domains.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with Sourcing Partner equivalent management.
- Monitors project execution and evaluates work in terms of time, cost, and quality targets.
- Assesses and evaluates risk.
- Communicates effectively, both formally and informally.
- Demonstrates leadership.
- Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives.
- Understand the relevance of own area of responsibility/specialism to the employing organization.
- Manage communication and negotiation with suppliers to obtain required solution design and sizing (hours effort).
- Reviews and approves infrastructure, software related project costs.
- Establishes a cross-departmental team in order to seamlessly execute projects.
- Partners directly with business and IT leadership and sourcing providers.
- Function as a Single Point of Escalation for all questions, activities, and issues related to project delivery requests aligned to specific Legal, OEC, and Privacy domains.
- Responsible for evaluating the performance of the organization against defined metrics and implementing process improvements as necessary.
- Responsible for Staff and Travel budgets as well as identifying needed decreases/increases per the financial schedule.
- Approves ROM estimates prior to project initiation.
- Reviews and approves time reports/invoices Monitors actuals.
- Accountable for accurate financial estimates.
- Identifies and structures their organization to align to the current and anticipated future strategy of the domain.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- A minimum of 12 years of IT experience in a large or mid-size multinational healthcare organization.
- Broad IT expertise in various disciplines; systems development, infrastructure, etc.
- Strong influence and negotiating skills.
- Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA Degree
- Knowledge of legal operations, privacy, and office of Ethics and compliance
- Experience in setting IT strategy and business IT alignment.
- Strong organizational skills, including program/project governance and increased levels of staff oversight.
- Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
- Experience with vendor management.
- Qualifications in project and program management.
- Broad knowledge of all technologies used or to be used by the internal customer, their external customers, and internal partners.
