Position Summary:

The Director of Planning and Procurement will play a pivotal role in steering the planning and procurement functions of our organization. With a complete reliance on outsourced supply chains, this position demands a strategic thinker who can manage our existing operations while also collaborating closely with the Product Development team to establish robust supply chains for new products. The ideal candidate will ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement policies and procedures to optimize cost, quality, and supply chain reliability.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development organization to design and implement supply chains for new products, ensuring scalability, cost-efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the planning and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with production schedules and market demands.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives across the supply chain while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts that favor the company in terms of quality, price, and delivery terms.
  • Ensure that procurement and supply chain activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards, particularly those pertaining to medical devices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Planning and Procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the medical device or a related regulated industry.
  • Proven track record in developing supply chains for new products, from conceptualization to market launch.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and achieving cost reduction targets.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards affecting the medical device industry, including FDA regulations, ISO 13485, etc.
  • Proficient in ERP and supply chain planning software.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
