Manager/Supervisor
Job Overview:
The Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the office staff, warehouse employees and drivers for the assigned location. The Manager is the primary driver of customer service, operational performance, and cost control. Work closely with Outside Sales to grow the business at acceptable margin levels. The Manager ensures compliance with company processes and procedures, maintains a safe and clean working environment, and ensures proper care and maintenance of all company assets.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to direct and adjust as needed all operational aspects including warehouse operations, inventory control, and customer service, human resources, administrative, trucking and sales.
- Maximize EBITDA by increasing revenues through solution-based selling, providing best in class service, improving local market penetration, and managing labor and overhead costs.
- Create an environment where employees are engaged in business and can share their ideas for creating more efficient processes.
- Identify talent and develop team members for growth opportunities.
- Work with outside sales to assess local market conditions, identify opportunities for new business.
- Partners with sales team in developing and executing a sales plan in a local territory to reach/exceed business goals.
- Lead with safety always and ensure all associates follow set requirements.
- Set the example, be a fierce advocate for safety problems, point them out, and fix them.
- Demand all use the proper PPE and follow requirements.
- Ability to analyze P&L and react to maintain the monthly and year end budget.
- Effectively communicate business indicators & progress toward goals to motivate the performance of direct reports.
- Ultimately responsible for location inventory.
- Conduct daily huddle meetings with the staff to provide input on customer service, slow moving inventory, and items out of stock. Manage the location to achieve fill rate and days on hand goals.
- Meet corporate goals as it relates to sales and truck run profitability.
- Address customer service issues as well as employee engagement issues.
- Adhere to high ethical and business standards.
- Stay abreast of competitive situations in your market.
- Continually train all employees to improve them as well as location operations.
- Be able to identify areas of need for improvement within your facility.
- Share knowledge with other locations as well as home office personnel on best practices, competitive issues, and other business opportunities.
- Ensure customer returns, credits, and warranties are addressed or processed in 24 hours.
- Communicate with customers regarding past due invoices and coordinate arrangements for payment.
- Responsible for AR related tasks including assisting in collection and communicating with AR and Sales staff for assistance in collection issues and discrepancies.
- Other duties, as assigned.

Experience – Education:
- Proven success managing a Location in a or related industry
- Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
- Adaptability
- High School diploma and some college, College degree preferred
- Familiarity with D.O.T. laws
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office software
